The Nottingham Forest manager brought Hyndman to Rangers in January, but they spent barely a month together at Ibrox.
One of Mark Warburton’s best Rangers signings arrived only 32 days before the Nottingham Forest boss left Ibrox.
Emerson Hyndman appeared on four occasions for Warburton’s Rangers, in which he scored two goals and made another.
But despite maintaining his form throughout the second half of last season, Hyndman’s Rangers spell was not enough to secure a first team place back at Bournemouth.
The American has played only three minutes of football all season and another spell away from Bournemouth will likely feature highly on his festive wishlist.
So could Warburton, again, come to Hyndman’s rescue in January? It is unlikely that Bournemouth would stand in the way of another temporary deal, certainly, while there might well be interest from Nottingham Forest, who are reportedly pursuing a deal for Hibernian’s John McGinn – another midfielder who is well-known to Rangers.
Hibs though, are digging their heels over the newly-capped Scotland international, who will cost more than £5 million according to Neil Lennon, the Edinburgh side’s manager and former Forest player.
Hyndman to Nottingham Forest then, could be one to keep an eye on.
