Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly tracking Giovani Lo Celso.

It’s squeaky bum time for Tottenham Hotspur in their pursuit of Giovani Lo Celso.

Wrapping up the transfer is proving quite problematic and Sky Sports claimed earlier this week that a move for the Real Betis playmaker had stalled.

Sky added that Tottenham would only resume trying to sign him if and when Christian Eriksen leaves.

With that in mind, a report from Spain involving Paul Pogba is quite worrying.

According to The Mirror, Real Madrid are desperate to sign Paul Pogba in a move which would lessen the need for Eriksen in the Spanish capital.

Simply put, if Real sign Pogba then there’s a good chance that Eriksen won’t be going to the Bernabeu, which means there’s a good chance that the Dane – out of contract at Spurs next summer – won’t be leaving North London.

If Tottenham’s move for Lo Celso hinges on Eriksen leaving then this Pogba development could throw a serious spanner into the works.

Yes, other clubs might come in for the former Ajax star, but Real were the banker, the club who have been linked with him for a number of years.

Mauricio Pochettino might be up a well-known creek without a paddle with regards to Lo Celso if Eriksen doesn’t move on.
