Tottenham have been linked with a pair of players from Serie A side Genoa.

Genoa could be in for a nervy transfer window. Because Polish hotshot Krzysztof Piatek is not the only Rossoblu player in demand right now.
Calciomercato reported that centre-back Koray Gunter is also attracting admiring glances from outside of the Stadio Luigi Ferraris with Tottenham Hotspur understood to be at the front of the queue.
It is no secret that Spurs are eyeing centre-backs with Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen out of contract at the end of the season as it stands and Gunter, who moved to Genoa on a free from Galatasaray in July, is the latest name to be linked.
Gunter, who started his career with Borussia Dortmund, is renowned for his composure and ability to play accurate passes out from the back, not unlike Alderweireld or Vertonghen.
So he could prove an ideal fit should one, or perhaps both, of Tottenham’s star centre-backs bid farewell to North London. But could Mauricio Pochettino target Gunter’s prolific Genoa team-mate Piatek while he’s at it?

TEAMtalk reported in September that Spurs are among a huge number of clubs keeping close tabs on the 23-year-old, who has taken Serie A by storm since he arrived from Cracovia for a bargain £3.5 million. Piatek has scored 13 goals in just 12 games for Genoa, breaking a record set by the legendary Gabriel Batistuta along the way.
And with Fernando Llorente heavily tipped to leave in the near future, The Independent reporting that Athletic Bilbao are set to offer their former talisman a January escape, a move for Piatek could be on the cards with his £30 million price-tag still well within Tottenham’s reach.
Raiding Genoa for Gunter and Piatek could solve two problem positions in one.
