Could Tottenham snare Nicolai Jorgensen by offering Janssen as bait?

The Feyenoord hitman would be a useful addition to the Tottenham Hotspur squad this summer.

Spurs were superb for the most part last season, and despite their ultimate disappointment in missing out on the Premier League title, they will be confident of achieving success both domestically and on the continent this time around.

Mauricio Pochettino will have to bolster his squad though, if he is to guide Tottenham to major honours, and their lack of transfer activity thus far might just be starting to worry the Spurs faithful.

One particular area of concern for the Argentine will be his centre-forward options, following Vincent Janssen’s woeful campaign last term.

The addition of a more able back-up to Harry Kane will surely feature highly on Pochettino’s wish-list, and he should consider dipping back into the Eredivisie, with a move for Feyenoord’s Nicolai Jorgensen.

The 26-year-old hitman was sensational for the Dutch side last season, scoring 25 goals and chipping in with 12 assists in 40 outings in all competitions.

Standing at 6ft 3in, the former Copenhagen striker is powerfully built, and possesses the ideal physique to be a success in England.

He is also fairly quick along the ground, and deadly when presented with a goalscoring chance.

Jorgensen is not all about goals though, he possesses wonderful vision too, which he uses to bring his teammates into play by setting up goalscoring opportunities for them.

He would surely prove to be a more than able deputy for Kane, and would even provide Pochettino with the opportunity of playing two up front, from where he could form a formidable partnership with the England international.

Whilst Feyenoord would obviously be reluctant to sell the Denmark international, Tottenham could sweetest any kind of potential deal by offering them the services of Janssen in return.

And if Pochettino manages to bring Jorgensen to north London this summer, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for Spurs.
