The Tottenham Hotspur wide player is not living up to the hype thus far.
Tottenham Hotspur proved against Manchester City earlier this month that they have a superb squad with considerable strength in depth, but there are also those players who will know their time at White Hart Lane could be coming to an end.
In the case of Spurs it is not a first-team star but a young winger who could be sold when the January transfer window opens, with 20-year-old Nathan Oduwa failing to live up to the considerable hype.
Tottenham’s decision to activate a clause in the player’s contract, prolonging his stay until the summer of 2017, gave Oduwa another chance to impress. But having reportedly refuse to sign a long-term deal (as reported by Sky Sports) and with his initially promising loan spell at Rangers fizzling out, the future looks anything but clear for the player.
Currently on loan at Peterborough United, Oduwa has managed just two brief substitute appearances to date, spending considerably far more time on the bench than on the pitch.
That is not the kind of form that prompts talk of a Premier League star in the making, and when you consider that January is the last time Tottenham could negotiate a decent fee for the player, it would be no surprise if Daniel Levy cashed in while he can.
The Tottenham youngster is on loan in League One until 2 January, at which time his future could become a whole lot clearer.
