Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Tanguy Ndombele. Should they sacrifice a key star?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly locked in on top transfer target Tanguy Ndombele, The Mirror report.

The defensive midfielder is viewed as the ideal replacement for Mousa Dembele and showed his class last month as Lyon beat Manchester City in the Champions League.

Yet it won’t be easy, with Lyon now reportedly valuing Ndombele at £70 million.

Normally this would rule Tottenham out of the hunt. Unless they try something radical. Like offering Hugo Lloris in part exchange.

Lloris is a hero in France after helping his country win the World Cup and his reputation remains high. Tottenham could knock a substantial amount of money off the £70 million asking price even before Daniel Levy tries to negotiate it down further.

If Tottenham believe Ndombele really is special, then sacrificing Lloris to get him isn’t a bad idea.

Lloris’ form has been increasingly erratic over the past 12 months and Tottenham could find a replacement for him without having to pay the sort of money they need to spend on Ndombele.

This is the time to cash in on Lloris before his value decreases.

Normally Spurs should still want to keep him, but if it can lead to them getting a player they arguably need even more, then they should pull the trigger.
