The Argentine would be a useful addition to the Tottenham Hotspur squad.
Mauricio Pochettino will be looking to bring some top quality talent to the club this summer, as he looks to build a squad capable of going one step further than last season, and challenge for major honours on all fronts.
With Erik Lamela’s ongoing injury problems now becoming a real concern for everyone involved with the club, the addition of an accomplished attacking midfielder will surely feature highly on the Argentine’s agenda during the off-season.
With this in mind, Tottenham should consider going back to Roma, who they signed Lamela from back in 2013, and make a bold move for Diego Perotti.

The 28-year-old Argentine is currently at the peak of his powers, and despite the fact that Pochettino usually prefers to sign younger players, it might just be the time now to add genuine experienced quality to his ranks.
Perotti can play anywhere along the front-line, but is most effective when deployed in the wide left attacking position. He is naturally right-footed, but is comfortable using both feet. Technically proficient, the Argentine would add a much needed level of guile and nouse to Spurs’ usually intricate attacking play, and could make a real difference to their chances of success this season.
The former Sevilla man contributed with eight goals and six assists in 32 Serie A outings last term, with 12 of those appearances coming from the substitutes bench.
Whilst he is considered to be an important player for his club, the Roma man has just two years remaining on his contract with the Serie A giants, so the Lilywhites would surely be able to tempt them into selling with a lucrative offer.
If Pochettino goes against the grain, by signing a player closer to 30 than 20, it could prove to be an acquisition of real significance, and in doing so, Spurs could make it second time lucky in bringing players from Roma to north London.
