Mauricio Pochettino is known to want to bring in a central midfielder at Tottenham Hotspur, and Napoli want Fabian Ruiz.

Tottenham Hotspur should consider swapping Kieran Trippier and money for Fabian Ruiz with Napoli.

Napoli are said to be interested in signing Trippier from Spurs this summer, according to Calcio Mercato.

Spurs are currently holding out for £40 million for the right-back, The Express have suggested.

However, Spurs may be better off trying to arrange a swap deal with Napoli.

Tottenham are desperate to add central midfielders this summer, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side short of options in the position since Mousa Dembele’s departure.

And Ruiz would be a stunning addition to Spurs’ squad, if they could bring him in.

Tottenham would likely have to contribute a fee with Trippier to bring in Ruiz, due to his high valuation.

Napoli paid £26 million to sign Ruiz just last summer (Express), and his strong performances mean he is worth far more than that now.

But Ruiz would offer Spurs poise and energy in midfield, and he would surely have the ability to immediately challenge for a place in Pochettino’s starting line-up.

And if Tottenham could use Trippier as a sweetener in the deal to get money off, then it looks like a no-brainer for the Lilywhites to attempt to get a trade arranged.
