Spurs are without a head of recruitment following Paul Mitchell’s departure from White Hart Lane.

A report in the Daily Mirror claims the Premier League is ‘on alert’ amid a rift at Borussia Dortmund, between manager Thomas Tuchel and Sven Mislintat – the club’s ‘chief talent spotter’.
It adds that ‘breaking point may not be far away’ with one of the pair likely to depart – and Hamburg’s eyes are reportedly on Mislintat.
As it goes, Tottenham Hotspur could be looking to add another body to their recruitment team, following Paul Mitchell’s departure from White Hart Lane at the end of the summer transfer window.

Chairman Daniel Levy last month admitted to the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust that Mitchell’s former colleagues were ‘open minded’ about hiring a like-for-like replacement. But surely, someone of Mislintat’s ilk would be hard to ignore should he indeed end up on the market.
Among the 43-year-old’s many successes at Dortmund are Robert Lewandowski (£3 million), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£12 million) and latterly Ousmane Dembele (£13 million, ESPN) – each of whom, at the time, would have fit the mould of player Mauricio Pochettino tends to go for: youthful, energetic and cost-effective.

And with Spurs beginning to establish themselves at the very top of the English game under the Argentine, bringing in Mislintat would be yet another statement of intent from the club – and could help them to reach even greater heights as Dortmund did once the German arrived in 2009.
