Tottenham Hotspur were linked with the Real Madrid attacking midfielder during the summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of landing their most ambitious target of the summer transfer window may be alive again, as James Rodriguez is reportedly close to heading back to Real Madrid.
Rodriguez left Madrid to join Bayern Munich in the summer, but his time in Germany has reportedly not gone according to plan.

Although the Colombian would be a player who would usually be out of Spurs’ price-range, due to his wage demands, a loan deal could suit both parties.
Rodriguez is looking to start afresh, and Spurs would be bringing proven quality to North London, if they could land him.

Rodriguez may not have enjoyed the most productive of times recently, but he remains an outstanding talent.
And if there was any way for Pochettino to bring him to Spurs, even if only on a temporary move, it would be a hugely exciting signing for the Lilywhites.
