Could Tottenham Hotspur end up winners from Christian Eriksen exit?

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly have a starting offer from Real Madrid for Christian Eriksen, which could give them a very good opportunity.

Master negotiator Daniel Levy needs to work his magic for Tottenham Hotspur again, as Real Madrid have just handed him a golden opportunity.

The Sun claim that Madrid have offered Tottenham Dani Ceballos and £45 million for Christian Eriksen, as they try to get hold of the Dane.

The swap deal, as things stand, makes little sense for Tottenham to go through with, but it is a wonderful starting point.

Levy’s business acumen has never been in doubt, even though Spurs have failed to sign a player for well over a year.

The Spurs chairman should now use his well reputed negotiating skills to benefit his side again.

If Levy can squeeze some more money out of Madrid and keep Ceballos in the deal then Tottenham may just come out the winners, even if they have to part company with Eriksen.

Eriksen is going to be very difficult to replace for Tottenham, but Ceballos’ arrival would be a strong start in Mauricio Pochettino’s attempts to do so.

The Spaniard is not the finished package, but at the age of 22 he shows great promise.

If Spurs could also draw a more sizeable fee from Madrid then they have a chance to effectively fund their move for Giovani Lo Celso too.

Sky Sports have suggested that Real Betis want £70 million for Lo Celso, with Tottenham currently delaying meeting that asking price.

If Spurs could fund the move through the fee that Madrid pay for Eriksen then it would look far more of a no-brainer to go for the Argentine international though.

And if Tottenham can get Madrid to raise the money they are offering for Eriksen in their initial offer then Spurs should not hesitate to do a deal, as it could be superb business, which actually strengthens their side.
