Tottenham Hotspur have sent scouts to keep tabs on Kenedy’s progress, with Mauricio Pochettino reportedly a fan.

According to the Northern Echo, Tottenham Hotspur are tracking Newcastle United’s Kenedy – and it will be interesting to see where Mauricio Pochettino would use the Brazilian.

Tottenham have no real urgent need for another winger, with the likes of Heung Min-Son, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura all able to play in that role.

However, there is arguably a gap in Tottenham’s team at left-back, and that may be where Pochettino views Kenedy’s future.

Kenedy has been in scintillating form since moving on loan to Newcastle, and he is surely too good to return to Chelsea just to sit on the substitutes’ bench again.

And it may be that Kenedy is being viewed as a potential left-back for Tottenham.

Ben Davies has performed admirably in the role this season, but with Danny Rose’s future still uncertain, a new full-back could be on Pochettino’s radar.

And Kenedy would have all the credentials to be an excellent addition to Tottenham’s squad.

Kenedy would be an upgrade on Davies in an attacking sense, and he would add to Spurs’ threat going forward.

Although Davies is arguably the more solid defender of the two, the Brazilian does have years ahead of him to develop, as he is only 22.

And if Pochettino does sign Kenedy and use him at left-back, where he is more than capable of playing, it could be a masterstroke from the Argentine boss.
