Could Tottenham soon regret not meeting Christian Pulisic’s wage demands in summer as Manchester United join race?

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly pulled out of trying to sign Christian Pulisic in the summer over his wage demands.

It has not been the most inspiring of seasons for Borussia Dortmund thus far, with the Black and Yellows well behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga and out of the Champions League at the group stage – but one of the players who has impressed this term is Christian Pulisic.

Pulisic has scored three times in the top flight and is showing further signs that he could be a real star of the future. But perhaps he may have been playing for Tottenham this season had they decided to take a gamble and not rule out a move for the 19-year-old because of his wage demands.

Back in July, the Daily Mirror reported that Spurs had the USA international on their radar but decided against following up on their initial interest due to the terms that he would have wanted.

But perhaps Tottenham are about to be left to rue the decision not to pursue Pulisic more seriously as one of their Premier League rivals is now eyeing up a move for the teenager.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are keeping a keen eye on the youngster. And perhaps it would be fair to suggest that that may deal a huge blow to Tottenham’s hopes of signing him if they ever decide to reignite their interest.

United have shown with their transfer business in recent years that there are seemingly few players in world football who are out of their price range, so meeting Pulisic’s wage demands would presumably not be too much of a problem for the Red Devils – if they decided that he was worth the money, of course.

While Pulisic is with Dortmund, Spurs’ decision to not follow up on their initial interest can not hurt Mauricio Pochettino’s team too much, unless he has an impact against them in Europe, but if he ends up moving to Old Trafford in the future and becomes the player that many expect him to be, it may not be too great a surprise if a number of Tottenham fans question exactly why the club did not break the bank to make a deal happen when they had a better chance.
