West Bromwich Albion are looking to strengthen their squad in many different positions in January.

The Baggies have performed remarkably so far this season, when their failed summer transfer recruitment policy is taken into account, and they currently sit in eighth position in the Premier League table.

Tony Pulis, however, has stated on a number of occasions that he wants to bolster his squad in January, with a central midfield addition being an area of high priority.

And West Brom should consider a move for Watford powerhouse Etienne Capoue.

The 28-year-old France international made the move to Vicarage Road in the summer of 2015, after a disappointing two-year spell at Tottenham Hotspur, and has since gone on to establish himself as one of the Premier League’s best box-to-box midfielders.

He is powerful, tenacious in the tackle, and has a relentless appetite for the game.

He covers vast amounts of ground and is as much of an asset on the defensive front as he is in the attacking third.

The Watford man would be the ideal addition to Tony Pulis’ squad, and would represent a fantastic alternative to the more expensive Morgan Schneiderlin, who now seems more likely to move to Everton.

Having Capoue in the centre of midfield alongside Darren Fletcher would take some of the pressure from the Scot’s shoulders, with him set to turn 33 in February.

His arrival at the Hawthorns would also provide extra competition for Claudio Yacob and, in turn, could potentially help improve the Argentine’s game.

And with the January transfer window now open for business, Pulis should seriously consider a move for the Hornets midfielder.
