Leeds had a fast start last year. Can it last this time?

Leeds United are tormenting Championship defences with their impressive attacking football.

The Whites have even been made bookies favourites to win promotion.

So what could go wrong?

Well quite a lot, is the answer. We are just two games in to a 46 game Championship season, and it can all go terribly wrong.

Leeds saw this last season, when they began the season terrifically under Thomas Christiansen.

In mid-September the Whites were in dreamland, topping the table, and promotion seemed like a genuine possibility.

Then the worst thing happened. They lost a game, and then another. And then another.

A losing run saw the Whites drop out of the play-off places by Christmas and their season was done by the end of January, with Thomas Christiansen sacked.

This negative experience can stand Leeds in good stead for this season, and actually become a positive.

They will be prepared for what may come next, and know better how to handle it and learn from their mistakes.

Leeds have made new signings, but 10 of the 11 which started the opening day of the season against Stoke were at Leeds last year.

They experienced the highs and lows, and have a chance to re-write their errors of last season.

Leeds were swept aside in the Autumn and Winter months last year, with their quick start fading from memory.

This year they can use that experience to help them achieve their goals.
