Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want Ryan Sessegnon, but if Fulham get promoted will it hinder their chances?

Ryan Sessegnon was again on target for Fulham at the weekend, scoring the opener in a 2-0 victory in the Championship against leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Sessegnon is thriving in his new role on the left wing, with that goal the teenager’s 13th in the second tier this season and eighth since the turn of the year.

It is little wonder, therefore, that the Telegraph reports that both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in the talented 17-year-old.

However, the same report also says that Sessegnon – who came through the ranks at Craven Cottage – may be tempted to stay with the West Londoners for at least one more campaign should they be promoted back to the Premier League.

That is a prospect that is looking increasingly likely, with the three points against Wolves keeping the Cottagers in fifth place in the table and eight points off automatic promotion.

Slavisa Jokanovic, manager of Fulham looks on prior to the Sky Bet Championship match between Fulham and Burton Albion at Craven Cottage on January 20, 2018 in London, England.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s men are in the finest form in the division having not lost in the league since a 1-0 defeat to Sunderland on December 16, winning nine and drawing three since.

So will Spurs be hoping that Fulham do not make it into the top flight as that could be the difference between them signing Sessegnon and not?
