Lucian Favre could be rewarded for his work at Nice by being offered the job at Dortmund – but will he take Southampton linked Jean Seri with him?
Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel
Only recently, Thomas Tuchel was one of the major names in the frame to replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal. These days, his future at Borussia Dortmund appears to be shrouded in doubt.
A naïve Champions League quarter-final exit to AS Monaco, coupled with their inability to challenge Bundesliga newcomers RB Leipzig never mind runaway Champions Bayern Munich, means Jurgen Klopp’s softly spoken successor has come under pressure at the Signal Iduna Park.
And, according to Bild, Die Schwarzgelben are already thinking about life after Tuchel with Ajax coach Peter Bosz, Atletico deity Diego Simeone and Nice manager Lucian Favre all in the frame to replace him.
Though it’s the latter that could impact the Premier League, most specifically Southampton. It appears that Jean-Michael Seri is increasingly unlikely to remain at Ligue 1 surprise packages Nice beyond the end of the season with a number of major European clubs tracking his progress.

Early Favre-te
According to RMC Sport, Southampton are one of a number of Premier League clubs, along with Everton, to express an interest in the midfielder after he helped unfancied Nice qualify for the Champions League with six goals and nine assists in Ligue 1.
And while Southampton boss Claude Puel brought Seri to the Allianz Riviera from Pacos de Ferreira in the summer of 2015, Seri has only truly found his feet once Favre replaced him in the Nice dugout.

Therefore, if Seri was to follow one of his former bosses, it appears more likely that he would reunite with Favre over Puel – especially if the former finds himself coaching in front of the infamous Yellow Wall with Champions League regulars Dortmund next season.
Southampton would struggle to compete with that.
