Should Leeds enter race for Sheffield Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri?

Leeds United recently hit a wall with their efforts to buy Matej Vydra from Derby County in a £12 million deal, with the forward’s wages a stumbling block.
The Whites are now considering how to re-invest the money, or whether to simply wait and see if Vydra lowers his demands.
One strong option would be to move for Sheffield Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri.
Wednesday are in a similar position to Derby County, needing to shed top earners or prize assets from their books to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
With their move for Vydra at a standstill, and money still sitting around, Leeds need to consider Forestieri as a viable alternative, three years after originally showing an interest in the attacker.

Forestieri also plays in the number 10 role Matej Vydra likes, and while this did not seem like as an obvious need for Leeds as a number nine, manager Marcelo Bielsa had a plan to use to Czech forward.
Italian ace Forestieri has an eye for goal, scoring five times in 10 appearances last season in an injury hit campaign.
He struck 27 goals combined in the two years previous, and would bring proven Championship experience to Elland Road.
At 28, Forestieri should be entering his best years. Potentially cheaper than Vydra too after last season, Leeds should consider him as a very viable alternative… before Swansea snap him up.
