Currently at Dynamo Kiev, Vida could move to Everton to plug a distressing gap in the squad.

After Seamus Coleman’s horror injury on international duty, it makes sense for Everton to get a head-start on their rivals before the transfer market becomes a shark-infested free-for-all.
And, according to Calciomercato, The Toffees could make a move for Croatian international Domogoj Vida, an experienced defender versatile enough to flit from a favoured central role to right-back.
However, the 27-year-old, who has plied his trade for Dynamo Kiev since 2012, lacks the agility and creativity of the rampaging Coleman.
Resolute and a rugged performer with real strength in the air, Vida could instead prove a rather useful stop-gap until the Republic of Ireland captain’s expected October return. It’s more likely, then, that Everton have identified him as a long-term replacement for Phil Jagielka or perhaps an upgrade on Ramiro Funes Mori.

However, Everton may have to pay a seven-figure sum to secure the defender’s signature. The Daily Mirror reported that Sunderland wanted Vida in the summer, only to baulk at Kiev’s £10 million valuation.
They reportedly refused to pay over £6 million which, when you consider that they splashed out more on Papy Djilobodji, raises a fair few questions.

However, with Jagielka now 34 and being phased out by Ronald Koeman, coupled with Coleman’s long absence, Everton are not exactly in a position to haggle over the fee.
Fortunately, in Farhad Moshiri Koeman has an owner who will back him in the transfer market.
