The Rangers defender is currently out injured but he has done little to impress this season.
When new Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha arrived at Ibrox he quickly set about making changes, giving the likes of Myles Beerman and David Bates a chance and instilling a new ethos into the team.
He will have also used the last few weeks to cast his eye over the players that could be surplus to requirements this summer, and one such player – Rob Kiernan – may have already played his last match for the club.
Regularly criticised by a large section of Gers fans, the centre-back is currently side-lined with a knee injury, and with Bates impressing after making the step up, and Clint Hill’s experience likely to earn him a new deal despite his age, it would be no surprise if Kiernan was ditched given his poor performances earlier in the campaign.
With Caixinha putting his faith in Danny Wilson, at least for now, and with a new centre-back also likely to be on the agenda when the transfer window opens, the future looks somewhat bleak for Kiernan.
Of course he could train his way back into contention during pre-season, yet of all Rangers’ players with at least a year remaining on their current deals, it is Kiernan who may have pulled on the famous shirt for the last time.
If that is the case, you may not find too many Gers fans complaining.
