Everton are likely to be looking to replace Sam Allardyce at the end of the season.

According to Sky Sports, Everton are still considering tabling a bid for Watford’s Richarlison, despite his poor run of form recently.

Richarlison enjoyed a wonderful first half of the season in English football, but he has struggled in recent months.

The Brazilian has even spent time on the Watford bench, after failing to hit the back of the net in five months.

However, Everton have not been put off by his struggles, and the transfer links are interesting for more than one reason.

Not only does Richarlison represent a highly ambitious target for the Toffees, given the price Watford are likely to ask for.

But they may also hint that a move for Marco Silva is not off the cards.

Everton chased Silva hard after parting company with Ronald Koeman, but their attempts were continually rebuffed by Watford.

Everton’s pursuit of Silva seemed to distract the Portuguese boss, and he was eventually sacked by the Hornets.

The Toffees, meanwhile, appointed Sam Allardyce, but it seems far from certain that he will remain in charge next season.

Silva is still the bookies’ favourite to takeover at Goodison Park. And the links with Richarlison may just suggest that Silva remains on Everton’s wishlist.

Silva is the Watford manager who got the best out of Silva at the start of the season, and a reunion would surely appeal to both player and manager.

And, even if the links with Richarlison have nothing to do with Silva, appointing the 40-year-old boss would surely help the Toffees to land the Brazilian winger.
