Reports in recent weeks have linked Everton’s Morgan Schneiderlin and Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny with a move to Roma.

Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has not played Premier League football since December, which perhaps gives an indicator as to where his future lies at the club.
The Daily Mail recently claimed that Serie A outfit Roma expressed their interest in signing the defensive-minded midfielder this month as the Toffees are prepared to let him leave.
But Italian outlet Tuttomercatweb are now claiming that Roma have enquired about potentially taking Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny on loan.
Could the potential deal and interest for Elneny, who plays in a similar position to Schneiderlin, mean that the European club have ended their interest in the Everton man?
Both players have struggled for game time under their respective managers during this campaign, with Elneny only completing 59 minutes of Premier League football and his counterpart not playing in the league since December.
While Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired Juventus are running away with the Serie A title, Roma are currently sitting outside of the top four and have crucial Champions League encounters against Porto coming up in February.

Under the stewardship of manager Eusebio Di Francesco, the Italian side opt to play two defensive midfielders, with one of them being former Stoke man Steven N’Zonzi.
But could the Frenchman’s similarities, in terms of physical presence, to Schneiderlin perhaps sway Roma to sign Elneny instead, who would provide more energy and movement for Di Francesco’s offensive outfit?
Either way, if Silva does not want to play the experienced man in his midfield then he is better off getting him off his books, one way or another.
