Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Lucas Digne could really leave Everton amid reported interest from Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has said that if Everton receive a good offer, then they will cash in on Digne.

The Toffees are reportedly on the verge of signing Vitaliy Mikolenko.

The Mirror have reported that Newcastle want to sign the £110,000-a-week left-back (Salary Sport) in the January transfer window.

Newcastle should make Lucas Digne bid

In our opinion, Newcastle should start preparing a bid for Digne now.

If Everton are willing to sell the 28-year-old left-back in the January transfer window, then the Magpies should at least make an offer.

In our view, it is unlikely that Digne would be willing to move to relegation-threatened Newcastle especially when there is interest from Leicester City.

However, Newcastle now have reach owners, and they could easily offer Digne more than the £110,000-a-week salary he gets at Everton.

Digne is 28 now and is at the top of his game.

We think that, if he joined Newcastle, the former Barcelona left-back would be able to make an immediate impact at St. James’ Park.
