The midfielder was denied the chance to finish his Liverpool career on a high, but what if he was able to still do so?
Gerrard has been on good terms with Liverpool manager Klopp, with the German quoted in The Mirror last month stating he was ‘always welcome’.

Liverpool currently sit at the top of the Premier League, and a lack of European football will give them a real boost at a title tilt, as it did in 2013/14.
The Reds should offer him a contract until the end of the season, to contribute as a bit part player in their season, and help them win the trophy they dream of.
No player Liverpool would sign could bring the passion nor the desire to win the title and do it for Liverpool that Gerrard could, especially given that it would be his one last shot at a redemption of sorts.
If Liverpool decide to go down the Gerrard route, it really could become one of the most popular transfers in the history of the football club, especially if the season ends up with the player and the club’s storybook ending, and lifting the Premier League trophy.
There would be nothing like it, with Liverpool and Gerrard able to confound their doubters. The window of opportunity is now or never, and the club should be bold and bring their former captain along for their latest ride.
