Rangers director of football Mark Allen should be well aware of Dilrosun’s situation, and doing all he can to tempt the teenager to Ibrox.
City signed Dilrosun from Ajax, and he starred for the same youth team as Phil Foden and Jadon Sancho.
He is a Dutch youth international winger, and is also attracting interest from Liverpool.
Rangers could offer Dilrosun a faster track to the first team, if he can prove himself, and this should appeal to a youngster who has seen his path blocked at The Etihad.
Rangers’ last swoop on City did not work out, with Aaron Nemane signing on loan and he failed to make an impression.
This should not deter Rangers from making another attempt to bring in a player from one of England’s top academies, who has already represented his country at youth level.
