Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers could be set to be without Jamie Murphy for a while.

Rangers could be without Jamie Murphy for a while, if the player’s worst fears are confirmed.
The 28-year-old winger suffered an injury within 17 minutes of the Gers’ win at Kilmarnock on Sunday and manager Steven Gerrard said afterwards that Murphy is devastated and fearing the worst.
He’s a massive part of Gerrard’s revolution at Rangers and it would be a major blow to lose him for the long-term, if scans determine that he’ll be sidelined for a while.
There are 12 days to go in the summer transfer window so Gerrard could sign a covering option if he needs to, but should the 38-year-old turn to Glenn Middleton instead?
Like Murphy, the 18-year-old is a left-sided winger and one who might be about to get his big break at Ibrox.
Middleton impressed for the Blues in pre-season but has only played 26 minutes of first-team action – in two Europa League cameos against Shkupi – across Rangers’ nine games in all competitions this season.
Gerrard’s predecessor Graeme Murty took him to Glasgow from Norwich City in January, and Murty was raving about him to the club’s official website last week.
The Liverpool icon seems to have taken a shine to him too, evident by the fact he is nearly always on the bench for Europa League outings, and Murphy’s setback might just open the door for Middleton if the Scottish attacker is going to be absent for a while.
