Rangers have a bit of a worry about left-back Borna Barisic.

The Rangers left-back was taken off injured on international duty for Croatia on Sunday [The Scottish Sun].

With a trip to Celtic looming large this weekend, Gers boss Steven Gerrard doesn’t need any injury concerns.

But if Barisic is out, could Gerrard bring Lee Wallace in from the cold?

It seems likely that Andy Halliday will start at left-back if Barisic is out, but Wallace, who hasn’t made a matchday squad in 2019, may be in the 18.

Well, it’s either him or Jon Flanagan and with respect to the former Liverpool defender, who has played once this year, Wallace is a much better option.

Not only on a football level, but he is Rangers’ longest-serving player – and former captain – and having someone like that in the dressing room before the game might not be such a bad thing.

Wallace is a popular figure among the Ibrox faithful and many of them would love to see him back involved.

Despite featuring for the reserves in 2019, he may not be fit enough to start, but on and off the field he’s still a better option to have in the build-up than Flanagan.
