The Arsenal ‘keeper would be a fantastic addition to the Newcastle United squad.
David Ospina in action for Arsenal
A report from the Metro today claims that Arsene Wenger has grown impatient with David Ospina, and will allow the Colombian to leave the Emirates this summer.
The 28-year-old has never really been given a true opportunity to establish himself as Arsenal’s number one goalkeeper, but he still has a lot to offer at the highest level.
His potential availability will surely cause a clamour for his signature, with plenty of Premier League clubs on the look-out for a top-class stopper this summer.
Arsenal’s David Ospina
One of those clubs is Newcastle, and Rafa Benitez should look into tempting Ospina into making the move to St James’ Park.
The experienced stopper would surely be an upgrade on what the Spaniard already has at his disposal, and he could flourish on Tyneside, with the opportunity of a guaranteed starting spot.
Karl Darlow’s future with the Magpies is uncertain to say the least, so there could very well be a gap in Benitez’ squad that needs filling this summer, and Ospina could be just the man for the job.
Arsenal’s David Ospina
With 77 international caps for Colombia, his talent is beyond doubt, and whilst he is not the most commanding of goalkeepers, his reflexes and shot-stopping skills are up there with the very best.
He would also add some much needed experience to the Newcastle squad, as they look to avoid dropping straight back down to the Championship next term.
And with the transfer window just around the corner, this will certainly be one to keep an eye on.
