Will Kenny Dalglish jack it in at the end of the season? If so surely there is only one man Liverpool fans would love to see back at Anfield…

Right now Liverpool Football Club is undergoing a moment of reflection.

From owner John W Henry, to managing director Ian Ayres, right down to Kenny Dalglish and Luis Suarez.

All four will be asking themselves if they could have acted differently over the past four months, and over the last seven days.

A key question to be asked is whether Kenny Dalglish or Luis Suarez will be at the club when next season kicks off in August.

It could very much depend on the result of the Carling Cup Final in just under a fortnight.

We saw last season the devastating psychological effect losing to underdog opposition had to Arsenal, and if Liverpool lose to Cardiff City, they could go into a tailspin.

Dalglish has as many on-pitch questions to answer as he does off the pitch.

Big money signings, Stewart Downing, Andy Carroll and Jordan Henderson have all disappointed, at a combined total of £75 million.

This, coupled with the recent off-field troubles the club has experienced, may lead the normally stubborn Dalglish to fall on his sword and call it a day.

He may not, he may decide to fight on, but what is clear is that the Carling Cup Final needs to be a turning point for the better, and not the worse.

If he does end up leaving, is there a better man for the job than the currently out of work Rafa Benitez?

The Spaniard was a revered cult hero at Anfield, who still splits opinions among fans.

Nobody can deny his genius in inspiring Liverpool to a thrilling 2005 Champions League win, and he built a superb 2009 side which should have won that year’s Premier League title.

Then it all suddenly fizzled out and he left the club 12 months later.

Now refreshed and with a point to prove- is Rafa the man the man to bring the magic nights back to Anfield again?

You tell us, if Kenny ever decided enough was enough, would you like to see Benitez back in charge?
