Could potential Dutch pair be just what Norwich City need?

Reports suggest Norwich City could have two new signings by the end of the window.

With the January transfer window nearing a close, Norwich City, much like many other Premier League and Championship clubs, are working hard to finalise a few final deals to strengthen their squad going into the final few months of the season.

After spending big in the summer to bring in the likes of Alex Pritchard, Sergi Canos and Nelson Oliveira, Norwich City have shown they’re no longer afraid to spend in this division, and look to be taking the same attitude into the final day of this transfer window.

The Norwich Evening News reported recently that the Canaries were set to land Ajax left-back Mitchell Dijks on loan until the end of the season, possibly as a replacement for the outgoing Robbie Brady. Dijks, who has spent the majority of his career at Ajax, as well as enjoying spells at Heerenveen and Willem II, will bring a wealth of experience to Alex Neil’s side, as well as becoming yet another player to feature for the Canaries with Champions League experience.

The deal makes more sense when combined with a potential move for Wigan Athletic’s Yanic Wildschut. The dutch winger, who was a team mate of Dijks at Heerenveen, is a powerful and pacy attacking winger who can terrify defences on his day. Needing to improve on his end product though, a move for Wildschut, which has been reported to be close by The Mirror, could leave Norwich with a left-hand side that are both on the same wave length, and perfect complements to each others game.

With the transfer window clock ticking away though, the Canaries will need to move fast to get the two Dutchmen through the door; two deals which will hopefully put a big smile back on Alex Neil’s face.
