Tottenham Hotspur take on the Gills at White Hart Lane this week.

Tottenham Hotspur take on League One club Gillingham on Wednesday evening in the third round of the EFL Cup, and Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is expected to make wholesale changes.
A number of injuries to key players was always going to mean a change in personnel. However with Tottenham likely to put this competition way down their list of priorities, it could also see some teenagers potentially getting their chance from the bench.
American centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers will surely make his competitive debut from the outset, but here we take a look at two teenagers who could be named on the bench for Wednesday’s clash:

Marcus Edwards
The most obvious first, 17-year-old midfielder Marcus Edwards is going to have a very bright future at White Hart Lane, and while a start may be unlikely given his presence in Tottenham’s under-23 line-up against Liverpool on Monday evening, a place on the bench is realistic.
Edwards is the gem in Tottenham’s academy crown and he could impress against Gillingham if given a chance in the second half with Pochettino confirming he could be involved.

Kyle Walker-Peters
Kyle Walker-Peters is a talented right-back who has been impressing for Tottenham at under-21 level for quite some time.
He is getting ever closer to a first-team chance and he deserves a place in the match-day squad later this week.
While he has a long way to go before becoming a first-team regular, with Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier ahead of him in the pecking order, games like this could give fans an early glimpse of his undoubted ability.
