West Brom on the hunt for a new right-back so what about out-of-favour Leicester star Danny Simpson?

West Bromwich Albion are still on the hunt for a new right-back, reports the Express and Star, having tried and failed to sign several over the summer so far.
The Baggies initially pulled out of a deal to bring in Jack Stacey from Luton Town in favour of Yeovil Town’s Tom James, but also decided against that move when the 23-year-old failed a medical.
They then looked at James Tavernier but were knocked back by Rangers and now they are mulling over the idea of taking Joel Ward on loan from Crystal Palace with a view to making it permanent in the future.
Other alternatives
West Brom manager Darren Moore is still looking at options in the position, even though he can only sign loanees now with the transfer window for permanent deals having shut on August 9.
Yet one player who could fit the bill perfectly and may be open to a move is Danny Simpson, who as Leicestershire Live reports has fallen down the pecking order at Leicester City and may not even be included in Claude Puel’s 25-man Premier League squad.

The Baggies’ rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers were linked with a move for Simpson, but that can no longer happen with top tier sides unable to complete any sort of incoming transfer now until January.
With the 31-year-old now third choice on the right side of defence for the Foxes and unable to move to another top flight team, a temporary switch to the Hawthorns to try and help the West Midlands side to promotion from the Championship could be appealing.
