Everton added a massive name to their strike force in Moise Kean but failure to offload Oumar Niasse in the summer could turn out to be a positive.

There was a lot of hype around Everton after their impressive transfer window and results have gone mostly in their favour. Two wins and a draw in their first four games is a decent start to the season and Marco Silva’s side are level on points with fourth-placed Crystal Palace.
The Toffees’ biggest problem from last season was the end product from their strikers. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun both had hugely underwhelming seasons and Silva has rightly addressed the issue with the signing of one of the best young talents in world football in Moise Kean.
The former Juventus man is yet to get off the mark in a Blue shirt but the signs have been positive. His movement and work rate have been very impressive but at 19 years of age, he could have minor slumps especially in his first season away from home.
Calvert-Lewin is Silva’s preferred alternative to Kean but a forgotten man in Oumar Niasse could be an interesting option off the bench. Realistically, the chances of Niasse getting a starting role is slim but his energy in the final stages of the game could prove to be hugely beneficial.

Although the Senegalese international’s last campaign in the Premier League was a terrible one where he failed to register a single goal or assist in 18 games, he has proven that he is capable of coming up with the goods. In the 2017/18 season, Niasse was directly involved in 16 goals in 27 games in all competitions for Everton.
If needed, Silva could have a very good option to come off the bench and change the game in Niasse and with less than a year left on his contract, a few good performances could aid his chances of moving to a good team in January or next summer.
