Orlando City are set for big changes this winter – and Leeds should look to benefit by signing Cyle Larin.
Orlando City have failed to reach the play-offs in MLS yet again this season – and there promises to be some big changes in Florida come the end of the campaign as they hunt a winning formula.
Most notably, Kaka – the Lions’ captain and star man, who scored their first MLS goal and has inspired team-mates ever since – has announced his decision to leave the club.
There is no doubt that the prospect of playing alongside Kaka has been a huge selling point for Orlando and their management will now have to look elsewhere for a source of inspiration.
Cyle Larin has particularly benefited from Kaka’s presence, with his first steps into professional football aided by a man who was once the best player in the world.
And so Leeds United’s hopes of signing Larin – reported by the print edition of The Sun on Sunday, September 10 – can only be boosted by this latest development.
Orlando already have a replacement for Larin in the form of Dom Dwyer and they would also now have extra room for a star man, to share the goal load, in their budget vacated by Kaka.
If Leeds are to maintain a promotion push this term – rather than fading in the Championship as they did last year – a move for Larin, who has 43 league goals in three seasons, would represent a significant coup.
Kaka’s announcement should only encourage the Yorkshire club in their pursuit.
