Newcastle United are reportedly among the Premier League clubs interested in signing Birmingham City’s prolific Championship striker Che Adams.

At long last, Michael Owen is no longer the most expensive player in the club’s history. Well over a decade after the former England international arrived at St James’ Park from Real Madrid, Newcastle splashed out £20 million on the Paraguayan international Miguel Almiron, as reported by The Mirror.
But, after waiting 14 long and underwhelming years, could Newcastle now equal their transfer record in the space of just a few months?
According to TEAMtalk, Newcastle United have joined the long list of Premier League clubs watching the prolific Birmingham City striker Che Adams, who has 19 goals to his name in the Championship this season.
Adams, who has also been watched by Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Everton, will not come cheap.
TEAMtalk add that the former Sheffield United forward is valued at £20 million by Birmingham – which would make him the same price as Atlanta United’s MLS Cup winning midfielder Almiron.
Owner Mike Ashley has a long way to go before he can get the Newcastle fans back onside again but signing Adams so soon after splashing out on Almiron might just give his status a boost on Tyneside.
