Rangers are still without a manager, almost three weeks on from Pedro Caixinha’s Ibrox exit.

There might soon be a new name in the running to become Rangers’s next manager, after Oscar Garcia resigned from his post on Wednesday.
The Spaniard boasts an impressive CV, which includes title success in Israel (Maccabi Tel Aviv) and Austria (Red Bull Salzburg, twice).
He is also a fluent English speaker, following spells at Brighton & Hove Albion, whom he led to the play-offs in 2014, and Watford, during the Hornets’ promotion campaign – although his mother tongue could help him to communicate better with Rangers’ Mexican and Portuguese imports.
Rangers would therefore be wise to explore the 44-year-old’s appointment, almost three weeks on from Pedro Caixinha’s sacking.

On the negative side however, Garcia’s managerial career is more a series of one-night stands than a handful of long-term relationships. Indeed, his spell at Saint Etienne was the third time he’s left a club within six months of taking over.
A repeat performance at Rangers would be the last thing the Light Blues need – although his record at clubs at which he has stuck things out suggests he could be a gamble worth taking.
