Newcastle United reportedly want to sign out-of-favour Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw in January.

Newcastle United’s chances of signing Luke Shaw in January face being derailed by Napoli, who are interested in signing another Manchester United full-back according to Sky Sports.
Sky Sports reports that discussions will take place between United and the Serie A leaders over a deal for Matteo Darmian, who wants to leave Old Trafford either permanently or on loan next month.
Napoli are in the market for a left-back because of serious injury to Faouzi Ghoulam.

Shaw and Darmian have made a combined 14 appearances for the Red Devils this season – only five in the Premier League – but Jose Mourinho may be reluctant to let both leave without bringing a player in.
Ashley Young has played himself into the team at left-back, but Mourinho needs established cover for the makeshift defender as United fight on three fronts between now and the end of the campaign.
Marcos Rojo is needed at centre-back to cover for Eric Bailly’s long-term injury, while Daley Blind, another left-back option, has not played in the league since September and may want a move of his own.

The Mirror understands that United will try to sign Danny Rose from Tottenham Hotspur, which would free up both Darmian and Shaw, who is a top Newcastle target, according to The Sun.
The 22-year-old has endured a miserable few seasons at United but still has the natural talent to be considered a statement signing by the Magpies to celebrate their prospective takeover.
But both Shaw and Newcastle may have to play the waiting game to see which other full-backs are on the move first.
