Lee Wallace featured in Rangers’ 3-0 defeat to Brentford at Auchenhowie.

Graeme Murty could spring a defensive surprise on Saturday afternoon as Rangers play host to Steve Clarke’s in-form Kilmarnock at Ibrox, by welcoming back defender Lee Wallace.
The 30-year-old has been sidelined by two serious injuries of late, undergoing surgery to correct a groin injury before being forced to spend more time out of action after going under the knife a second time to solve a hernia problem.
Now, the Gers’ club captain is fit once again after starting for the development side against Brentford’s second string on Wednesday, which ended in a dismal 3-0 defeat at Auchenhowie.

Despite the poor result, Murty will have been buoyed by the return of his captain, who featured for the entire 90 minutes while midfielder Graham Dorrans was afforded 45 minutes of football under Billy Kirkwood.
It could see former Hearts defender Wallace rushed into the first team on Saturday, with Murty struggling for options at centre-back following the Old Firm defeat to Celtic.
With Ross McCrorie and Russell Martin already injured prior to the 3-2 loss, David Bates was replaced by Fabio Cardoso after suffering an injury. Though the later has been blamed for Celtic’s second goal.

Murty has just Cardoso and Bruno Alves to choose from, but after Wednesday’s outing, Wallace could be used at centre-back by the 43-year-old manager in order to prevent Cardoso from featuring against Killie.
A natural left-back, Wallace was used as a centre-back against the Bees’ reserve side this week and that could suggest Murty is prepping the left-footer to start alongside Alves on Saturday.
