Ibrox veteran Kenny Miller suffered a hamstring injury against Hibernian during Rangers’ 2-1 win.

Rangers icon Kenny Miller is in the midst of a poor run of form that has seen the Ibrox mainstay fail to score in his last seven outings for Graeme Murty’s side.
The 37-year-old has managed just four goals in his 18 league and cup appearances this season, but continues to be picked ahead of nine-time Mexico international who is yet to be given a serious go in a Light Blue shirt.
However, the veteran’s hamstring injury against Aberdeen will now give the likes of Herrera, Alfredo Morelos or indeed Josh Windass an extended run in the Rangers side up front – starting with Saturday’s clash against St. Johnstone.

But where does the injury leave Miller? With no timescale on the muscle problem, it remains to be seen if one of his replacements can show the form required to keep the former Celtic striker out of the Rangers side.
Miller, who has also played in England with Wolves, the MLS with Toronto and Turkey with Bursaspor, is in the final six months of his contract at Ibrox – with a year’s extension already in jeopardy due to his impotency in front of goal.

Now, with an injury that could keep him on the sidelines until the new year, Miller could find his place in the side is no longer if Morelos, Windass or Herrera can prove prolific in his absence.
The muscle injury could affect his game time, meaning he has no other way to show how and why he deserves another year in the Rangers side. It could mean that the striker is forced to leave at the end of his contract.
