The Glasgow Rangers youngster is a superb option in holding midfield.

Ryan Jack’s red card against Aberdeen means he joins the list of midfielders currently unavailable for Rangers, however the Gers have the ideal replacement in the form of Ross McCrorie.
The 19-year-old showed in the earlier clash between the two sides that he is an outstanding option in the centre of the park and, while he played as part of a back-three for the reverse fixture, the return of Fabio Cardoso and presence of Bruno Alves means McCrorie could take a few steps forward without weakening Rangers’ back line.
In truth, he could be strengthening the side available to interim boss Graeme Murty, certainly if he can replicate the performance he gave in Rangers’ 3-0 win at Ibrox.
McCrorie is an outstanding talent and if does step in for the suspended Jack, who has not always delivered as fans expected this season, it may be hard for the summer signing to win back his place.
In time McCrorie is expected to become an outstanding holding midfielder – a player in the vein of Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier who is more than capable of operating in defence but who is far better further forward.
Jack’s suspension should give him another opportunity to prove his worth and Jack for one will be watching closely, especially with Jason Holt in resurgent form and Graham Dorrans a guaranteed starter once he returns from injury.
