Eric Dier’s future at Tottenham Hotspur is already in some doubt this summer.

Dier has acted as a shield for England recently, but with Spurs wanting to bring in midfielders this summer, he faces a fight to earn much game time next year.
It has brought Dier’s future into sharp focus, with reports in The Times suggesting that Manchester United could look to bring in the Tottenham man.
Spurs are reportedly considering offloading the 25-year-old, who United valued at around £40 million two years ago (Telegraph).

If Dier is now being asked to play in a position where he doesn’t feel is his best, then that may give him some encouragement to leave.
If Dier is to be moved to centre-back at Tottenham then it seems likely he would be fourth choice, behind Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez.
And by asking Dier to be act as a reserve in a role which he reportedly doesn’t feel suits him, then Tottenham may risk losing the England international, amid interest from other clubs.
