Manchester United are well stocked when it comes to full-backs and the Italian is not getting a look in.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho’s first job at the club was bringing in the players he felt could take them back to the top and he did that in some style.
The problem was, he was left with little time to sell those who were not in his first-team plans, leaving the Portuguese with an inflated squad and some less than happy individuals.

One such player is Italy international Matteo Darmian, who has made just one appearance for United this season, in a 2-1 defeat against Feyenoord in the Europa League.
That match aside, the 26-year-old has not got a single minute of first-team football, and he has only even made the bench twice – against Northampton Town in the EFL Cup and Stoke City in the Premier League.

When you consider Timothy Fosu-Mensah can cover for Antonio Valencia at right-back and United are well equipped on the opposite flank, there seems little chance of Darmian breaking back into the side on a regular basis under Mourinho.
Whatever fans think of Darmian, Mourinho clearly does not rate him, and he looks likely to join Bastian Schweinsteiger in leaving United at the first available opportunity.
