West Ham United have pledged to spend more than ever before this summer but reports have claimed the club must sell to have significant funds.

West Ham co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold have pledged to spend more than ever before in backing new boss Manuel Pellegrini to transform the East Londoners.
The Hammers have been linked with a host of players so far this summer including Marlon Santos, Felipe Anderson, Jack Wilshere and Javier Pastore just some of the names mentioned, as reported by the likes of the Telegraph.
So far the Hammers have brought in right back Ryan Fredericks on a free transfer from Fulham and have been linked with another free transfer, 35-year-old out of contract Yaya Toure according to The Sun.

More worryingly, as reported by The Sun, star names such as Marko Arnautovic, Manuel Lanzini and Declan Rice have been linked with moves away from West Ham although Lanzini’s injury has put paid to the chances of that happening.
And supporters are concerned after Gold was quoted by talkSPORT admitting player sales will dictate the transfer budget: “You can’t put a figure on it because you don’t know which players are going to leave and that will add to the kitty,” Gold told talkSPORT.
Lanzini had been linked with a big money move to Liverpool – as reported by The Express – which many fans felt would be welcomed by the Hammers board to adhere to the reported sell to buy policy.

But after the playmaker was injured for up to six months in pre-World Cup training with Argentina, could that push another fans’ favourite, Arnautovic, closer to the exit door.
Arnie as he is affectionately known by West Ham fans, was the club’s player of the season but has been heavily linked with a mega money move to Manchester United after being watched by Jose Mourinho while playing for Austria.
Supporters must now be extremely concerned that given Lanzini cannot be sold by the owners this summer they will instead look to make a healthy profit on Arnautovic instead with figures between £50-£65million mentioned.
