West Ham United have been linked with Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic ahead of the summer transfer window.

West Ham United are looking to bolster their attacking options this summer and they have targeted a £12 million move for Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic, Daily Star reports.

The 31-year-old has scored seven goals and provided six assists for Serie A champions Juventus this season, where he has often been deployed on the left wing for Massimiliano Allegri’s side.

The Croatian international has been an ever reliable presence in the Juventus line-up this season and he would represent a brilliant signing for Slaven Bilic’s side if they can land their man.

Mandzukic has the strength and technique to adapt well to the demands of the Premier League, but will his arrival mean the departure of Andy Carroll?

The former Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid man is generally a centre-forward, providing his team with an aerial threat as well as using his strength and awareness to bring the ball down and bring his teammates into play.

The Daily Mail has reported that Slaven Bilic does not want to try and offload injury plagued Andy Carroll this summer, but it seems unlikely that the Hammers would have need for both Carroll and Mandzukic at the club.

If the Croatian does make his move to the London stadium, Carroll could find himself struggling to find his place in West Ham’s first team if both are fit, and may have to look elsewhere pursue regular football.
