Anthony Martial reportedly wants to play as a central striker, so could Tottenham Hotspur target him from Manchester United as Harry Kane competition?

Anthony Martial is looking to get more opportunities as a central striker, according to the Daily Mail, as his future at Manchester United continues to be questioned.
Martial is unhappy with his current role at Old Trafford and has been linked with a move away as a result, with Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur all thought to be keen.

Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho does not want to lose the 22-year-old, particularly to a Premier League rival, and will seek to assure him of more game time in his preferred position.
However, Martial is still behind Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford for a place at the focal point of the United attack and whether Mourinho can keep the Frenchman happy remains to be seen.
What if he leaves?
The fact Martial sees himself as a number nine could be greeted in a positive fashion by Spurs, who are yet to adequately find backup for topscorer Harry Kane.

Both Fernando Llorente this season and Vincent Janssen last have unimpressed, meaning Kane is relied upon heavily and there are few other options if the England international is injured.
Martial would have to be convinced to be second choice to the 24-year-old at Tottenham, but in truth all the clubs interested in the attacker already have players at the club that would be picked ahead of the France international as a central striker.
