The Leeds United midfielder does not appear to be in Garry Monk’s plans so his time is surely coming to an end.

Leeds United were busy in the summer, bringing in a host of new faces and waving goodbye to a few players in the process. But with the January transfer window only three months away, there are likely to be more departures as Whites manager Garry Monk trims his squad.

One player likely to leave is midfielder Luke Murphy, with the 26-year-old somewhat surprisingly overlooked this season, omitted from practically every match-day squad and making just a single appearance in the EFL Cup clash with Luton Town.

It is quite a fall from grace for a player who is something of a fan favourite at Elland Road and who turned out 38 times for Leeds last season.

In total Murphy has 111 appearances for the club but he may well have made his last, which is sad given his contribution in the past.

Monk will have his own ideas and he certainly has a lot of options to choose from in the centre of the park, so along with Souleymane Doukara, Murphy looks like heading to pastures new in January, where he will be hoping to get his career back on track as quickly as possible.
