Could Luka Modric convince Mateo Kovacic to Tottenham Hotspur?

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be keen on Mateo Kovacic.

According to AS, Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to hijack Chelsea’s move for Mateo Kovacic and if they do Luka Modric may hold the key to the transfer.

Kovacic knows all about Chelsea’s style now, after spending the season on loan at Stamford Bridge.

But the Croatian international is great friends with Modric, and he may want to put in a good word for his former club.

Modric has always spoken very highly of Tottenham, after spending four brilliant years with the North London club.

If Spurs do go in for Kovacic, then the Real Madrid man will almost certainly turn to Modric for advice.

The London Evening Standard reported how Modric persuaded Kovacic to make the move to the Premier League in the summer.

And if the Croatian could repeat the trick by convincing Kovacic to move to Tottenham, then Mauricio Pochettino would surely be delighted with the latest Ballon d’Or winner.
