If it comes to it, Tottenham Hotspur must try Lucas Moura as a number nine.

Let’s face it, Tottenham Hotspur’s season could be shaped over the next few days.
If scans on Harry Kane’s ankle indicate that he’ll be out for a few months then it’s utterly detrimental to whatever Tottenham had hoped to achieve this season.
The bad news is that Mauricio Pochettino only has Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen by way of recognised replacements. The good news is that it’s January and a new striker could be signed. The bad news again is that we don’t know if Spurs – who have built a £850 million stadium – have the money to sign a top-quality alternative for Kane.
Indeed, Pochettino might have to get a bit creative and if he does, what about Lucas Moura as a makeshift striker? The Brazilian winger has little to no experience as a number nine, but what he does have is speed a certain goalscoring nous.
The 26-year-old has netted eight goals from 20 Premier League and Champions League starts. He certainly knows where the goal is and maybe, just maybe, Pochettino should experiment with the former Paris Saint-Germain star in a forward role.
It will also give Tottenham an element of surprise – for a while at least.
Opposition managers know how to set up their defence against strikers like Janssen and Llorente, but there would be a sense of the unknown with Lucas.
Lucas up front might be the best of a bunch of pretty bad options for the North Londoners.
