The future of Max Meyer looks set to be away from current club Schalke after the midfielder rejected a new contract at the Bundesliga club.
Meyer is about to enter the final year of his current deal at the Veltins Arena and it seems as if the German side may need to cash in on the 21-year-old this summer.

“I received an offer of a contract extension, but with my management I decided to turn it down,” the Germany international told Bild.
Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Meyer in recent times, but ESPN report that Liverpool are also in the running and could beat their Premier League rivals to his signature.
The youngster has actually been an exciting prospect at Schalke for some time having broken into their first team more than four years ago in January 2013.

Since then Meyer has played 164 times for the club in all competitions, scoring 24 goals, and also has four caps for his national team.
Generally the midfield ace operates as a number ten behind the striker, but also has the ability to play on either wing, making him a versatile option in attack.
