Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa was spotted at a League One game over the weekend.

In one of the more surprising sights of the weekend, Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa was spotted in the Oakwell crowed watching Barnsley’s League One clash with Luton Town on Saturday.
The sighting seemed to perplex a number of Whites supporters. The likelihood – given everything known about the Argentinian – is that Bielsa simply wanted to take the opportunity to take in another game that was relatively local with Leeds off Championship duty for the weekend.
But perhaps there is a chance that he had at least one player on his radar with thoughts gradually starting to turn towards the January window.
And it just so happens that one of the players on the pitch in the game was one that Leeds have previously been linked with.

The Daily Record reported in December 2016 that Leeds were considering a move for Liam Lindsay while he was at Partick Thistle. Ultimately, the Whites switch never took place and the centre-back headed to Barnsley.
Lindsay may now be plying his trade in League One, but it was not too long ago that he was being linked with a potential Premier League move. The Daily Record suggested in January that Brighton were eyeing a £6 million bid for the 23-year-old.
He was part of the side that was relegated from the Championship last season, so a move would be a potential gamble, but he may be a player worth keeping an eye on in case he can get back to looking like a Premier League target in the future.

Given the amount of change that has taken place at Leeds since the links with Lindsay emerged, it seems incredibly unlikely that Bielsa would have gone into the game with the defender already identified as a potential option to keep an eye out for.
But given the transformation that Bielsa has overseen in a number of players, it would be no surprise if the Leeds coach needed little time to spot something he could work with in a player. And given Lindsay’s previous links with a top flight move, perhaps it would not be out of the question for Bielsa to see something in the defender on his weekend trip.
